QED-AI develops open, reusable artifacts that help accountable people evaluate quality, make limitations visible, preserve decision warrants, and choose responsible next steps.
QED evokes quod erat demonstrandum—that which has been demonstrated—and names the path from quality evaluation to responsible disposition. In QED-AI, AI primarily means Artifacts Institute.
Public-benefit mission
Our mission is to improve how artifacts, claims, systems, practices, situations, complex problems, decisions, and bodies of work are evaluated, matured, documented, contextualized, and responsibly carried forward.
QED-AI pursues that mission by developing a cross-domain quality framework, applying it through public-facing disposition dossiers and decision records, and producing or revising design-science artifacts when the evidence warrants an intervention.
We serve accountable stewards, evaluators, educators, researchers, leaders, practitioners, implementers, reviewers, decision-support actors, and affected communities. QED-AI supplies resources; it does not replace the authority, professional judgment, validation duties, or legal obligations of the people who use them.
Planned public-benefit work
These program areas are in formation and development. They are presented as planned work, not as claims of completed scale or impact.
Research and maintain concepts, rubrics, maturity structures, adequacy scales, vocabularies, schemas, evidence practices, validation logic, and documentation protocols for rigorous evaluation.

Apply the framework to a situated problem, artifact ecology, program, system, or decision context and make the evidence, gaps, limitations, risks, and warranted disposition range reviewable.

Create or revise methods, models, rubrics, workflows, templates, datasets, communication objects, and governance resources when a dossier or authorized decision identifies a justified need.

How knowledge becomes usable
Selected initiatives move through a modular knowledge-operationalization pipeline. Each stage preserves provenance, domain meaning, limitations, authority, and reviewability.
Domain portals
Each portal has its own organization-owned repository, release boundary, source map, and application catalog. Initial scopes are provisional and intentionally allow cross-domain relationships.
Development roadmap
Roadmap items guide planning. They do not create binding obligations unless separately adopted by the Board.
Virginia incorporation, initial governance structure, organizational meeting, officer elections, records, and authorizations.
Complete the applicable Form 1023-series process, establish core operating services, and align public descriptions with the governing record.
Stabilize the quality framework, publish bounded worked examples, test dossier and decision-package structures, and document lessons.
Develop contributor pathways, domain-spanning applications, interoperable repositories, and appropriately bounded computational support.
Public tools and applications
QED-AI's public tools will be published as lightweight, browser-based resources. Planned work is distinguished from released work, and no confidential governance records are housed here.
The catalog is now in place and will identify each tool's status, purpose, limitations, source, and release information as tools are published.

QED-AI has no statutory members. Its work and net earnings are not organized for the private benefit of its founder, directors, officers, or other private persons. Officer titles reflect the current Board record.
Policies and transparency
Until the Internal Revenue Service issues a favorable determination letter, QED-AI does not represent that federal tax-exempt recognition has been granted or that contributions are tax-deductible.
This website does not solicit contributions. Program descriptions and roadmap items identify planned public-benefit work unless expressly marked complete.
QED-AI maintains corporate records and intends to make its exemption application, determination letter, and annual information returns available as required by law, subject to lawful privacy and confidentiality protections.
Corrections to public information will be dated and made without silently rewriting material organizational history.
